There is quite a bit of the language you mentioned in this handbook. The problem is that people don't really read this booklet... and even if they did, they don't read it closely.
California handbook can be found at:

http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/pubs.htm

Bicycle section specifically at:

http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/hdbk/pgs55thru57.htm#bike
Henryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03548759366956607204noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18899086.post-432740552572013462007-01-19T18:52:00.000-05:002007-01-19T18:52:00.000-05:00Interesting and useful! It seems like as long as everyone is on their best behaviour things work out. The times I've been smashed by cars while out on the bike have both been my fault as well as the drivers... Bike lanes are awesome. Drivers need to be more alert. Talking on the cell phone and driving is terrible. Cars will get theirs someday!!Bike Droolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02472086220137681760noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18899086.post-41821732582934372982007-01-17T11:51:00.000-05:002007-01-17T11:51:00.000-05:00This is great background for Brian Hennigan's op-e...This is great background for Brian Hennigan's op-ed piece in the Edinburgh Evening News: It's time to put brakes on antisocial cyclists (9 Jan 2007).
